Karnali Province Transport Offices Collect Over 250 Million in Revenue in Nine Months

  Surkhet. Transport offices in Karnali Province have collected over 250 million in revenue during the first nine months of the current fiscal year.

By the end of Chaitra, the Transport Management Offices in Surkhet, Chaurjahari, and Jumla had collected a total of 258.14 million in revenue.

According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Urban Development, the highest revenue was collected by the Surkhet Transport Management Office, located in the provincial capital, Birendranagar.

This office alone collected 222.748 million in revenue over the nine-month period.

The transport office in Chaurjahari, Rukum West, collected 24.522 million, while the office in Jumla collected 10.869 million in revenue.

In the month of Chaitra alone, these three offices collected approximately 8.7 million in revenue.

According to Ministry spokesperson Ramesh Subedi, the majority of revenue is generated from vehicle taxes. In this category alone, 209.685 million was collected over the nine months. 

The Surkhet office alone collected 182.924 million, the Jumla office 5.138 million, and the Chaurjahari office 21.622 million in vehicle taxes.

Under the route permit category, 7.953 million in revenue was collected. In this category, the Surkhet office collected 6.44 million and the Jumla office 1.513 million, while the Chaurjahari office did not collect any revenue.

A total of 40.22 million was collected under vehicle registration and fees, with the Surkhet office collecting the highest amount at 33.137 million. 

Jumla collected 4.216 million and Chaurjahari collected 2.866 million.

Under administrative penalties, fines, and forfeitures, Surkhet collected 246,000, Jumla 1,575, and Chaurjahari 33,315 in revenue.
