Rastriya Swatantra Party Lamjung Elects New Leadership

Pokhara. In Lamjung, where 5 people competed for the chairmanship of Rastriya Swatantra Party, no one got a majority, so the leadership was selected unanimously in the second phase. Ashok Sapkota had received the highest votes in the initial election. He got 69 votes, while the second person, Bholanath Sharma, got 49 votes. Third-placed Haribahadur Dhital got 33, fourth-placed Vijay Ranjan Poudel got 16, and Nabaraj Pahadi got 7 votes. According to the statute of Rastriya Swatantra Party, if no one gets a majority, there should be a competition between the 2 who get the most votes. However, Sharma, who received the second highest number of votes, supported Sapkota, who received the highest number of votes. With this, Santoshi Gauli has been elected Vice-Chairperson with 86 votes. Her closest competitor Prakash Thapa got 69 votes and another candidate Baburam Adhikari got 19 votes. Secretary candidate Mina Khadka won the election by getting 119 votes, while closest competitor Gyanendra Sharma got 28 votes and another candidate Milan Sharma Danai got 25 votes. In the post of Joint Secretary, Govindabahadur Ghale has been elected with 66 votes. His competitor Eknarayan Shrestha got 62 votes and another competitor Mahendrabahadur Thapa got 40 votes. Savita Adhikari Baral, Surendralal Shrestha, Singhbahadur Ghale and Shyam Gurung have been elected as members.
