Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies Proposes Structural Reforms

Kathmandu. The Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies has submitted a 4-point proposal to the government aimed at structural reforms in the foreign employment sector. A delegation led by Association President Bhuwan Singh Gurung submitted the proposal to Minister Ramji Yadav on Monday.

The proposal prioritizes controlling recruitment costs and ensuring financial transparency by setting maximum cost limits based on destination countries. Furthermore, the association has demanded the implementation of an integrated system to streamline the demand letter verification process and the establishment of practical procedures for countries where Nepal does not have an embassy.

The letter also includes proposals for diplomatic initiatives to remove the financial burden of 'PCC registration' on workers and the provision of concessional loans through the central bank to organize manpower companies. President Gurung stated that he is committed to making this sector dignified and reliable while ensuring the rights of businesses and the safety of workers.
