Thamel Street Festival to mark Nepali New Year 2083

Kathmandu. On the occasion of the Nepali New Year 2083, the 'Thamel Street Festival' is set to take place in Thamel, the primary tourist destination of the federal capital. Organized by the Thamel Tourism Development Council, the festival is being held today afternoon at Tridevi Marg, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, with the objective of promoting the Nepali New Year on an international level.

Council Vice President Sahadev Dhamala (Bimal) stated that the festival is being organized to gain international recognition for the Nepali New Year. "On the eve of the New Year, various stalls will be set up on the streets of Thamel to showcase food and goods, alongside presentations of indigenous cultural programs," said Vice President Dhamala.

According to him, 32 stalls will be set up on the road at Tridevi Marg to promote food and sell goods. The Council stated that various cultural programs will be organized starting from 6:00 PM to welcome the New Year, with the event concluding at 12:30 AM. The Council also noted that 80 percent of foreign tourists visiting Nepal come to Thamel, and significant participation from both domestic and international tourists is expected at the street festival.
