Legendary Singer Asha Bhosle Hospitalized: Family Dismisses Cardiac Arrest Rumors

New Delhi. The truth behind rumors circulating on social media regarding the health of legendary Hindi cinema singer Asha Bhosle has been revealed. Reports on Saturday claiming she suffered a cardiac arrest and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai had shocked fans.

However, her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, issued an official statement clarifying that the reports were false. According to Zanai, the 92-year-old Asha Bhosle did not suffer a cardiac arrest but was hospitalized due to extreme exhaustion and a chest infection.

'My grandmother is in the hospital due to exhaustion and a chest infection. She is undergoing treatment, and we are fully confident that she will recover soon and return home,' Zanai informed via social media. She also requested that the family's privacy be respected during this difficult time.

Born on 8 September 1933 in Maharashtra, Asha Bhosle began her singing journey at the age of just 9. Following the death of her father, Deenanath Mangeshkar, she began singing and acting alongside her sister, Lata Mangeshkar, to support the family financially. She started playback singing in Marathi films in 1943 and stepped into Hindi cinema with the 1948 film 'Chunariya'.

Known for her versatility in ghazals, bhajans, pop, and classical music, Asha Tai also holds a world record. In 2011, the Guinness Book of World Records recognized her as the most recorded artist in music history.

She has sung over 12,000 songs in more than 20 Indian and foreign languages. Her timeless hits like 'Dum Maro Dum', 'Chura Liya Hai Tumne Jo Dil Ko', and 'Piya Tu Ab To Aaja' remain immensely popular today.
