Actor Paresh Rawal Reveals Reasons for Quitting Politics

Mumbai. Famous actor Paresh Rawal was very active in politics at one time. Paresh, who makes people laugh on the silver screen, was associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from 2014 to 2019. 

He reached parliament by winning the Ahmedabad East Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat on a BJP ticket in the 2014 general election. However, he quit politics in 2019. Paresh Rawal recently revealed in an interview why he had to quit politics and the reasons behind this decision.

Speaking on Vickey Lalwani's podcast, actor Rawal said that he realized that politics requires a lot of dedication. He stated that he took this step because he felt he could not give full time to politics while continuing his acting career.

He admitted that he found the reality of work in politics to be very different from what he had imagined. He said that the burden of work, constant travel, and responsibilities had affected his health.

'My problems started when I entered politics in 2014,' Rawal said, sharing his experience. 'I already had blood pressure problems, but after getting into politics, I had to take three medicines a day.'

He mentioned that common people think politicians sit in air-conditioned rooms, get massages, and eat cashews and raisins, but the reality is not like that. 'Only after going there did I realize how much work they make you do,' he added, 'They make you run so much that you get tired.'

He also clarified that he had entered politics for a limited period only. 'I quit saying this is not my job,' he said. 'I had gone only for a limited time and I don't have much understanding of it.'

He described politics as a disciplined job and expressed the view that one must be fully dedicated and give full time to it. He believes that only then can one survive in politics.

Paresh Rawal, who separated from politics in 2019, is now fully busy in Bollywood and is dedicating all his time to acting.
