Man arrested for digital sexual harassment of Amisha Parajuli

Kathmandu. Police have arrested one individual following a complaint filed by Amisha Parajuli, who alleged she was subjected to digital sexual harassment after participating in a CPN (UML) protest.

Cyber Bureau SP Dilip Kumar Giri confirmed to RatoPati that 24-year-old Abhishek Chaudhary, a resident of Gujara Municipality-2, Rautahat, was arrested for allegedly posting obscene comments about 20-year-old Amisha on Facebook.

Confirming that he was brought to Kathmandu after being arrested in Rautahat, SP Giri stated, 'We have obtained a 5-day remand from the court on Sunday and are conducting an investigation.'

During preliminary questioning, Chaudhary admitted to posting the comments. SP Giri added that the Cyber Bureau has also requested details from Meta (Facebook) regarding other suspects who posted sexually harassing comments against Amisha.

Amisha filed a complaint with the Cyber Bureau on Chaitra 18, alleging that she was subjected to digital sexual harassment specifically because she participated in a street protest against the arrest of former Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli.
