Experts Advocate for Global Adoption of President Xi Jinping's Ecological Civilization Concept

Kathmandu. Experts have stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping's concept should be implemented globally. They argue that sustainable development is only possible through an ecological civilization, making President Xi's concept essential for the world.

During an interaction organized by 'Friends on the Cloud: Platform of Influencers' on Friday, economist Dr. Chandramani Adhikari, Dr. Dharma Upreti, Dr. Sanjaynath Khanal, Constituent Assembly member Binod Pahadi, and organization president Shobhit Upreti shared their views on ecological civilization, China's practices, and the issues Nepal needs to prioritize.

Speaking at the event, economist Adhikari emphasized that one must treat nature as a university, noting that it is the primary university for every human. Stating that the principle of 'lucid waters and lush mountains' is the need of the hour, he expressed that moving away from nature leads to the contamination of politics, economics, traditions, and culture.

Dr. Dharma Upreti discussed the civilization of soil, water, air, and sound, asserting that political commitment is mandatory for environmental improvement. Dr. Sanjaynath Khanal expressed that we must embrace the values of sustainable development to hand over a safer and more beautiful Earth to the next generation.

Constituent Assembly member Pahadi expressed concern over the denudation of Nepal's hills and emphasized the need to maintain a balance between development and environmental conservation. Chinese President Xi Jinping introduced the concept of ecological civilization for development in 2005.
