New Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal Assumes Office After Taking Oath

Kathmandu. Newly appointed Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal has assumed office. Immediately after taking the oath of office and secrecy on Friday, he reached the ministry at Singha Durbar and took charge of his responsibilities.

Minister Khanal, who is also the head of the foreign department of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), also holds the responsibility of the tourism department chief within the party. The 47-year-old Khanal holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the United States and a Bachelor's degree in International Political Economy from Wagner College.
