Iran Vows 'Decisive' Retaliation After Security Chief Killed in Israeli Airstrike

Tehran. Tensions between Iran and Israel have reached a boiling point following the death of security chief Ali Larijani in an Israeli airstrike. Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami has warned of a 'decisive' retaliation for Larijani's assassination.

He issued a statement saying that 'at an appropriate time and place, a harsh, discouraging, and regrettable response will be given to the criminal America and the bloodthirsty Zionist regime of Israel.' Hatami also expressed determination to avenge the deaths of Larijani and other martyrs.

Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guards, a separate military structure from the Iranian army, claimed to have already launched missile strikes targeting central Israel as retaliation for Larijani's death. According to AFP news agency, the Revolutionary Guards clarified that the attack was a form of revenge.

This reaction from the Iranian side and the direct military confrontation have increased the risk of further tension in West Asia. While the killing of Larijani is being analyzed as a major blow to the Iranian security apparatus, the global community is closely watching the steps taken by Iran.
