Man Arrested for Alleged Misconduct Against Newly Elected MP Mahabir Pun

Kathmandu. A person was arrested on Thursday on charges of misbehaving with the newly elected Member of Parliament, Mahabir Pun.

The arrested individual has been identified as Bikash Gurung, 43, a resident of Ward No. 13, Banzhapatan, Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kaski.

Police Deputy Superintendent Hari Bahadur Basnet stated that a police team deployed from the District Police Office, Kaski, arrested him from Mahendrapul, Ward No. 9, and further investigation is underway.

According to the police, records show that Gurung has previously been convicted in drug-related cases three times.

The police initiated an investigation after an incident where the individual used abusive language and misbehaved while Mahabir Pun and his team were selling a book titled "Mahabir Pun: Memory, Dream, and Continuous Journey" at Prithvi Chowk, an incident that was publicized across various social media platforms.
