Khukuri Attack Outside Dohori Sanjh in Birendranagar

Surkhet. A khukuri attack has been carried out on a person outside 'Visit Karnali Dohori Sanjh' located near Bulbule in Birendranagar Municipality-10.

Jivan Kumar Shahi, 33, a resident of Kalagaun, Birendranagar Municipality-4, was injured in the incident, according to the District Police Office, Surkhet.

Around 10 PM last night, a group of 4 people attacked Shahi with a khukuri during a minor dispute outside the dohori sanjh.

'He sustained a head injury and has been sent to Karnali Province Hospital, Kalagaun for treatment,' said Kabindrasingh Bohora, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Surkhet. 'The condition of the injured is currently moderate.'

He also stated that 3 people who attacked with a sharp weapon have been taken into custody with 1 khukuri.

Those arrested include Roshan Shahi, 19, of Birendranagar Municipality-9, Bharat Bogati, 18, of Panchapuri Municipality-8, and Suman Nepali, 16.

Similarly, Harish Rokaya, 26, of the same municipality-5, is absconding, the police said.

His search is ongoing.
