Rastriya Swatantra Party Candidate Shishir Khanal Wins Kathmandu-6 Seat by Wide Margin

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) candidate Shishir Khanal has won the Kathmandu Constituency No. 6 seat by a massive margin. He secured a resounding victory, leaving behind the candidates from the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML by a large gap.

According to the final vote count, Khanal received 27,719 votes. His closest competitor, Sabuj Baniya of the Nepali Congress, secured 6,647 votes, while Aman Maskey of the CPN-UML settled for 4,373 votes.

Following his unprecedented and historic victory, Shishir announced via a video message that he would not hold any victory celebrations, rallies, or Sindur Jatra. Stating that the country is in a special situation, he mentioned that the time has come to focus on work rather than celebrating.

Khanal clarified that, following the clear directives of RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane and Balen Shah, he will not organize processions or victory rallies because they must work day and night for the transformation, good governance, and prosperity of the country.

Although he will not hold a victory rally, he will visit the doorsteps and neighborhoods of the voters who elected him. However, he requested that people refrain from offering him garlands, scarves, or tika when he visits. His plan is to meet the public in a very simple manner to collect their grievances and problems.

Remembering the youths who lost their lives protesting against corruption and for good governance in the past, he interpreted this election result as an intervention by the youth in favor of change.

Stating that they do not have much time and face the challenge of delivering results in a short period, he also committed to working day and night to realize the common aspiration of developing the country's economy and bringing back the youth who have gone abroad.
