BP Smriti Green Run Participants Thanked

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress Central Policy, Research and Training Academy has expressed thanks and gratitude to all participants in the 'BP Smriti Green Run' competition organized on Tuesday on the occasion of BP Smriti Day.

Issuing a press note on Tuesday, the Academy stated that the program was successful due to the active participation of runners, live painting artists, green table dialogue panelists, health workers, media persons, volunteers, and security personnel.

According to the Academy, 3,384 people had registered online for the competition. Among them, 1,760 people participated in the competition.

In the competition, Mukesh Bahadur Pal became first, Narendra Singh Rawat second, and Sanjay Shrestha third. Similarly, Ganesh Singh became fourth, Amrit Thakuri fifth, and Nageshwar Ahir sixth. The winners will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000, Rs 12,000, Rs 10,000, and Rs 8,000 respectively. The prize distribution will be held on July 23 in a special ceremony organized at the National Assembly Hall, the Academy informed.

Under the program, 21 artists participated in live painting focused on the topic of climate change. Also, climate expert Manjit Dhakal, Abhishek Yadav, Dr. Manu Karki, and Sagarmatha climber Poornima Shrestha participated in the panel discussion on the topic 'Climate Change and Nepal: Nature, Democracy, and Future Generations', according to the statement issued by the Congress.
