Kannada Actress Blackmailed Over Secretly Filmed Video in Bengaluru Restroom

Agency. A case has surfaced in Bengaluru, India, where a famous Kannada television actress was secretly filmed in a compromising video and subsequently blackmailed for money.

The video was allegedly recorded in a restroom during a celebrity women's cricket tournament held at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium on February 7.

The actress, who is also a former reality show contestant, has alleged that an unknown individual recorded the video without her knowledge and later blackmailed her by sending it via Instagram.

The complaint states that the accused sent the explicit video to the actress's friend's Instagram account, pressuring her to engage in video calls and pay money. Threats were also made to release the video on other social media platforms if the money was not paid.

The Cyber Crime Police Station registered an FIR on February 13 and has intensified the investigation. Police have filed charges under various sections of the Information Technology Act, along with criminal intimidation and extortion.
