Sangeeta Pahadi Aryal Reinstated as Nepal Telecom Managing Director After Acquittal

Kathmandu. Sangeeta Pahadi Aryal has been reinstated as the Managing Director of Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (Nepal Telecom). Pahadi has returned to her responsibilities after being acquitted in a corruption case by the Special Court.

As per the decision of the Minister-level meeting of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Ashad 26, Pahadi's suspension has been revoked and she has been reinstated at Telecom. She was suspended earlier due to the allegations against her.

Speaking to the employees during the reinstatement ceremony, Managing Director Pahadi stated that there is no need to fear anyone while working with integrity for the benefit of the organization and the country.

Speaking about the future course of action, she pointed out the need for procedural reforms within the company. She pledged that in the coming days, work will be carried out keeping in mind both internal aspects and external perspectives. Her plan is to further strengthen the public's trust in Telecom and the market's reputation by remaining steadfast in line with the spirit and guidance of the Government of Nepal.

Pahadi resolved to make Telecom's services more customer-friendly, stating that the company will always be committed to providing quality services to its customers, stakeholders, and the general public. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority had filed a case in the Special Court on Jestha 25, 2082, claiming irregularities in the purchase and maintenance process of Telecom's billing system.

A claim of Rs 33 crore 48 lakh 17 thousand 430 was made in this case. However, in the verdict on Ashad 25, the Special Court determined that no malice was found in the billing system purchase process.
