Pokhara – Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has insisted on the need for eliminating a system of syndicate for good governance and peace and security in the country and people's conveniences.
Speaking at a press meet organised by the Press Center Nepal, Kaski here today, the Home Minister said transport, agricultural and industrial sectors in the country were taken hold by this system which he termed a hindrance to economic prosperity.
All sorts of syndicate need to be removed and the government would proactively to end the culture of hooliganism, he said, calling for support from all quarters to this end. According to him, economic prosperity is the demand of the nation, and leftist political parties are going to be one to bring political stability in the country, the required condition for attaining nation's prosperity.
"The unification of the CPN (Maoist Center) and CPN (UML) has reached the final phase," said the Minister who represents the CPN (MC) in the UML-led coalition government.
"Ideological, political and organisational basis has been created for the unification. The unification date will be announced soon, and the country will pursue development and prosperity following the merger."
Saying some individuals during Indian Prime Minister's visit to Nepal made a public statement that would dent national independence and dignity, he said the self who made such statement should own up this act, but the government is not responsible. (Photo available)
