Election Commission Designates Officials for Code of Conduct Monitoring in All Districts

Kathmandu. The Election Commission has designated the Assistant Chief District Officers and Treasury Controllers of all 77 districts as officials for monitoring the election code of conduct.

Mohanraj Joshi, the legal officer of the Commission, informed that the Commission's meeting on Magh 10 designated the Assistant Chief District Officers and Chief Treasury Controllers as code of conduct monitoring officers.

The Commission stated that they have been given the authority to monitor and take action regarding the effective implementation of the code of conduct issued for the House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21.

Previously, the Commission's central office itself used to receive complaints regarding the election code of conduct. The Commission stated that following this decision, the authority to monitor and take action on whether the code of conduct has been violated has been delegated to the respective districts.
