Colombia Defeats Uzbekistan 3-1 in FIFA World Cup 2026 Qualifier

Kathmandu. In the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group 'K' match, Colombia defeated Uzbekistan 3-1, making a spectacular start to the competition.

In the match held at Mexico City Stadium, Daniel Muñoz, Luis Díaz, and Jaminton Campaz scored for Colombia. Abbosbek Fayzullaev scored one goal for Uzbekistan.

Colombia took the lead in the 40th minute when Daniel Muñoz scored from a pass by Luis Díaz. In the match that ended 1-0 in the first half, Uzbekistan equalized in the 60th minute through Fayzullaev's goal.

However, Colombia regained the lead just five minutes later. Luis Díaz scored from a pass by Gustavo Puerta, putting the team in a 2-1 situation.

Uzbekistan performed better in the second half but could not find an equalizer. Instead, in the ninth minute of injury time, Jaminton Campaz scored, giving Colombia a spectacular victory. 

Luis Díaz, who scored one goal and provided one assist, became the main hero of Colombia's victory. With this win, Colombia has added three important points in Group 'K', while Uzbekistan has started its World Cup journey with a loss.
