Monarchy and Hindu Nationhood Pushed Aside at Foreign Powers' Behest: Kamal Thapa
Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa has accused foreign powers of orchestrating the sidelining of Nepal's monarchy and Hindu identity, key elements of the nation's heritage. Speaking at a party induction program on Friday, Thapa claimed these changes were imposed without public consent through foreign influence and sponsorship, harming national interests.
Federalism Failing, Nation Losing Direction
Thapa argued that federalism remains poorly understood by Nepali citizens and has become an unsustainable burden – like "keeping a white elephant." Recalling the 2006 political changes, he shared personal experiences of witnessing intense foreign pressure and interference firsthand. He lamented that today's politics is dominated by unprincipled, corrupt elements and swindlers rather than true statesmanship.
Nationalist Democracy as the Only Path Forward
Emphasizing RPP Nepal's ideology as the solution, Thapa stressed the urgent need to strengthen promotion-based nationalism to save and rebuild the country. He expressed his unwavering commitment to establishing RPP as Nepal's alternative nationalist democratic force, working with high morale and activism.
Prominent Figures Join RPP
The event saw several notable personalities inducted into the party, including Dr. Bal Krishna Dahal, Dr. Sudarshan Subedi, economist Prakash Thapa, agricultural scientist Ashwin Acharya, and Vishnu Tiwari, among other distinguished individuals. Thapa personally welcomed these new members, signaling the party's growing intellectual base.
Thapa's remarks underscore his party's continued advocacy for constitutional monarchy and Hindu statehood as pillars of national stability, while positioning RPP as the nationalist alternative to Nepal's current political establishment.
