Expelled UML leader Rawal to hold presser today

Kathmandu, January 1 — Dr. Bhim Rawal, who was expelled from the CPN (UML), is set to hold a press conference today to inform the public about his future plans.

Rawal's aide, Govinda Duwal, stated that Rawal will address the media and share his thoughts, including his future course of action.

After his expulsion from UML, Rawal has been in internal discussions about forming a new political party.

Duwal mentioned, "The press conference is set to take place at 1 PM on Wednesday. At the event, Rawal will speak about his views and also provide information about his future plans. Today it will be clear whether he will form a new party or not."

Rawal, who had been active in the UML for nearly five decades, was expelled from the party in a Secretariat meeting last Wednesday, losing even his general membership.

Rawal had competed against KP Sharma Oli for the party's chairmanship during the 10th General Convention in Chitwan in 2021. Since then, he has become inactive in the party.
