Madhav Kumar Nepal Pays Tribute to Pushpa Lal Shrestha on 48th Memorial Day

Kathmandu. Former Prime Minister and CPN Co-coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal has paid heartfelt tribute to Pushpa Lal Shrestha, founder General Secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal, on the occasion of his 48th memorial day.

Issuing a message, leader Nepal stated that Pushpa Lal's contribution to the Nepali communist movement is still relevant, inspiring, and guiding today.

The statement reads, "Although he physically departed from us on Shrawan 7, 2035 BS, his contribution to the Nepali communist movement is invaluable. The journey of struggle he initiated for the liberation of the Nepali people and the transformation of Nepali society continues to move forward and has achieved significant accomplishments."

Leader Nepal credited Pushpa Lal with the historic establishment of the Communist Party in Nepal and discussed his personality and struggle. The statement mentions that inspired by his elder brother martyr Gangalal and other martyrs of 1997 BS, Pushpa Lal dedicated his entire life to the liberation of the people and social change. He continued his struggle even during the autocratic and oppressive Panchayat rule, remaining unwavering in his political beliefs and principles.

Leader Nepal recalled that Pushpa Lal analyzed Nepali society objectively, formulated the theory of the Nepali revolution, and identified class structure and political contradictions based on a Marxist perspective.
