Kathmandu, December 26 — The Muglin–Naubise section of the Prithvi Highway has been partially closed during the daytime from Sunday for construction work, resulting in passengers facing up to three hours of daily traffic jams.

The roadwork, which includes cutting through rock walls and improving curves at Pokharebhir and Bishaltar, began on December 22 and is expected to continue until December 28, with the road being closed for three hours each day.

While vehicles are halted, passengers are seen enjoying the sun on the roadside, eating oranges and nuts.

Similarly, heavy vehicles from Chitwan heading towards Naubise are halted at Chalise, while light vehicles are stopped at Ghatbesi.

For the Bishaltar curve improvement, heavy vehicles coming from Muglin towards Malekhu are stopped at Majhimtar, and light vehicles at Charaundi Bazar.
