Karim Adeyemi Joins Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund

Agency. Spanish giant Barcelona has signed German forward Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.

Barcelona has brought in 24-year-old Adeyemi for an initial 22 million Euros.

According to ESPN, Dortmund will receive an additional 7 million Euros as 'add-ons' based on the match result and performance. It has also been agreed that the German club Dortmund will receive a percentage of the profit if Barcelona sells Adeyemi to another club in the future.

Adeyemi, who spent four seasons at Dortmund, was particularly interested in bringing him to the team by Barcelona's head coach Hansi Flick. Flick had also given Adeyemi his debut for the national team when he was the coach of the German national team.

Reacting after arriving in Barcelona, Adeyemi said, 'At first, I couldn't believe it because my previous season was not very good. But I am very grateful for this opportunity. I was very impressed when coach Hansi Flick told me that he wanted me in the team but I have to work 100 percent.'

Speaking about the collaboration with young star Lamine Yamal, he added, 'The coordination with Yamal can be very good. He is skilled not only in scoring goals and dribbling but also in creating opportunities for other players. Since I am a player who likes to run behind the defenders and catch passes, this deal will be excellent for me.'

Adeyemi can play in all three positions in the attacking line. Having joined Dortmund from RB Salzburg in 2022, he has scored 36 goals in 146 matches for Dortmund. Adeyemi is the second player to join Barcelona in this summer transfer window. Earlier, Barcelona had already signed England winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for 70 million Euros.

With the arrival of Adeyemi and Gordon, players like Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres have become available in Barcelona's forward line. However, Barcelona is still in search of a prime striker.
