Oli confirms no invitation received from India for his visit

Kathmandu, December 26 — Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has briefed that he has not yet received an invitation for a visit from neighboring India.

During a Secretariat meeting on Wednesday, while discussing the current political situation and foreign relations, Oli stated that he has not yet received any invitation for a visit from India.

"Until now, I have not received an invitation from India. I believe it will likely come soon," Oli mentioned in the meeting.

During the same briefing, Prime Minister Oli also highlighted the long-term significance of the BRI (Belt and Road Initiative) agreement signed during his visit to China.

He emphasized that BRI agreement would be crucial for Nepal's development and would help Nepal make significant progress.

Prime Minister Oli had completed a four-day visit to China on December 5 and, when asked by the press at Tribhuvan International Airport, he had mentioned that arrangements for his visit to India were being made.

Despite Oli’s comments, political and diplomatic circles have been discussing that India has shown neither interest nor made preparations for the Prime Minister's visit.

Earlier, discussions had taken place about Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba, who traveled from Germany to India to arrange the Prime Minister’s visit.

However, after the Indian side declined to meet Minister Rana, she faced criticism.
