Biplav and Janardan to share the dais on Mao Day

Kathmandu, December 24 — A grand program is being organized in the capital on the occasion of the 132nd Mao Day, which will take place on December 26.

The event, set to be held at the Nepal Academy in the capital, will include discussions on communist unity and is expected to lay the foundation for meaningful unity, according to the organizers.

The ideological interaction, titled "Mao Day and Contemporary Politics," will feature Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' and CPN (Maoist Center)'s Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma 'Prabhakar' sharing the same dais.

Biplav's party had previously decided to unite with the Maoists, but the unity has not yet been realized due to delays from the Maoist Center side. Similarly, Deputy General Secretary Sharma has been emphasizing the need for communist unity.

The organizers believe that having these two prominent leaders from different parties discuss unity and the role the communist movement should play will be a significant step forward.

"At a time when there is widespread debate on left-wing polarization, we believe the gathering of these two talented leaders from the two parties will help provide a new direction to the left movement," the organizers told Ratopati.

Additionally, the program will feature the public release of important diaries from the Maoist-led 10-year people's war.
