Madheshi Commission seeks legal action against attackers of Janakpur Bolts fans

Kathmandu, December 22 — The Madheshi Commission has sent a letter to the Police Headquarters, demanding immediate identification and legal action against those involved in the collective attack on the supporters of Janakpur Bolts after the final match between Janakpur Bolts and Sudurpashchim Royals on Saturday.

On Sunday, the Commission sent a letter to the Police Headquarters directing them to identify and take legal action against the unruly group who used weapons to injure Janakpur Bolt's supporters and made racist and discriminatory remarks on social media.

Dr. Bijay Kumar Dutta, the Chairperson of the Commission, stated that such communal and social harmony-disrupting incidents highlight the negative perception of the Madhesi community by other communities.

Dr. Dutta warned that if the state and police administration do not show sensitivity to such incidents, it could have a harmful impact on social harmony and the overall development of the country.

A high-level team from the Commission, led by member Jiwachh Sah, conducted a field visit to the incident site and gathered detailed information from the injured.

Chairperson Dr. Dutta stated that the Commission will make stronger decisions based on the findings of the investigation.
