Bill on Infrastructure Tribunal Finalized After Stakeholder Discussion

Kathmandu. Discussion has been held on finalizing the 'Bill on Regulation of Infrastructure Tribunal' to complete infrastructure construction and development projects on time.

Discussion was held with stakeholders on Thursday regarding the proposed bill prepared for the speedy resolution of project-related disputes. Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal, National Planning Commission Member Arjun Jung Thapa, Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Development Gopal Prasad Sigdel, Secretary of the Ministry of Law Parashwor Dhungana, among others, participated in the discussion held at the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

The Ministry of Law had formed a study committee to conduct a detailed study on the policy, legal, and institutional reforms necessary to complete infrastructure construction and development projects on time and to expedite the resolution of disputes. The committee had submitted its report with suggestions to the ministry.

The bill has been prepared based on the recommendations of that report, and detailed discussions were held on further refining the bill after the discussion and giving it a final shape, the ministry said.
