NEA receives outstanding dues from three industries including Sarbottam Cement

Kathmandu, October 27 — Three additional industries have settled their outstanding dues for dedicated and trunk line services with the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA). According to NEA, Naba Nepal Industries, located in Bhairahawa, has paid off its entire outstanding balance, which amounted to 205,000 rupees.

Similarly, Sarbottam Cement, which had outstanding dues totaling 119.6 million rupees, has remitted 3.7 million rupees as the first installment of its arrears. NEA has provided the option for industries to pay their dues in installments. Another industry has requested that its name not be disclosed, as noted by NEA. Consequently, NEA has connected power lines for all three industries.

Currently, 29 industries that have not settled their outstanding dues or installments have not been granted power connections. The Nepal Electricity Authority maintains a firm stance that connections will only be provided once either the full outstanding amount or installments are paid. Last Thursday, NEA disconnected the power supply for industries that failed to remit their dues for dedicated and trunk line services.
