Free Health Portal Sees Over 1,200 Patients Utilize Services

Kathmandu. After the government launched the Free Health Portal for the health treatment of the poor class, the number of people receiving free services through it has exceeded one thousand two hundred.

With the Ministry of Health and Food Hygiene launching the online system 'Free Health Portal' on the 3rd of Baisakh to provide information regarding free hospital beds, to implement the constitutional right to free health treatment, the poor class has benefited.

According to the updated information on the portal, a total of 23,456 beds are immediately available in all hospitals across the country. Ten percent of that number, i.e., 2,356 beds, are available completely free of charge.

Out of the total available free beds, 354 beds are currently occupied by patients. Thus, two thousand two free beds are immediately available.

The portal provides updated information on the number of beds immediately available across the country, ten percent of which are free beds, the number of free beds currently in use, and the number of remaining free beds.

The ministry has stated that it is preparing to provide updated information on other services available in hospitals through the portal.

Minister of Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta said that the free portal was implemented to ensure that the facilities provided by the constitution and law to the poor class are received by those classes. She said,
