Indian Tourists Flock to Pokhara, Boosting Tourism

Kaski. With a significant arrival of Indian tourists, Nepal's tourist capital Pokhara is currently bustling with tourists. Especially with the increase in tourist activity in the Lakeside area, boat rides, trekking, and other tourist activities have become very active.

According to boat operators, more than five thousand tourists have enjoyed boat rides on Phewa Lake in a single day. There has been a significant presence of Indian tourists in the Annapurna region as well as in various trekking routes in the surrounding areas.

With the increasing flow of tourists, most of the hotels in Pokhara have become full. Even during this period, which is generally considered 'off-season' or when fewer tourists come, the significant increase in the number of tourists has made tourism entrepreneurs very excited. According to stakeholders in the tourism sector, the arrival of Indian tourists has been continuously increasing since Baishakh. This situation is a positive and happy sign for Nepal's overall tourism industry.

Hotel entrepreneurs have stated that the arrival of Indian tourists has increased significantly compared to previous years. The wave of tourist arrivals that started after the Nepali New Year has continued until the end of Jestha. Not only Pokhara, but the number of Indian tourists has also been encouraging in the major religious and tourist destinations of Gandaki Province, especially Muktinath and various trekking routes.

Indian citizens have started choosing Nepal as an attractive and convenient destination to seek relief from the increasing heat in India and to make good use of their holidays. According to tourism entrepreneurs, this increasing arrival of Indian tourists has added new enthusiasm to the tourism industry of Pokhara and Nepal as a whole.
