Jhapa Police Recover Most Missing Persons, Resolve Domestic Violence Cases

Jhapa. The District Police Office, Jhapa has successfully searched for most of the missing persons from the district in the last one year. According to the police's annual statistics, out of 667 people reported missing from various places, 653 have been found, while the search for 14 is ongoing.

According to Ranjan Awa, Information Officer and Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Jhapa, most of the missing persons were found safe due to the active search and investigation by the police and coordination with concerned bodies. He informed that the search for the remaining 14 people is also continuously ongoing.

Meanwhile, the police have stated that all complaints related to domestic and women's violence registered in the last fiscal year in Jhapa have been resolved. According to the police, out of 123 complaints related to domestic and women's violence registered across the district, all complaints have been processed and resolved.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Awa, complaints were resolved through legal action based on the nature of the incident, awareness counseling, and mediation between both parties through the active initiative of the Women, Children and Senior Citizens Service Center.

According to him, as soon as a complaint is received in such incidents, the police have been prioritizing the work of conducting necessary investigations and legal proceedings, ensuring justice for the victim, and resolving disputes.
