Trump Assures Netanyahu Will Not Be Arrested in US

New York. US President Donald Trump has clarified that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested in America under any circumstances. Trump's statement came to light after comments from New York City Mayor Johran Mamdani.< /p>

Mayor Mamdani had stated that his office was considering the possibility of arresting Netanyahu if he came to New York in September for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Following this, Trump wrote on social media platform Truth Social on Monday night, 'Benjamin Netanyahu will not be arrested in any way while he is in America.'< /p>

Trump added, mentioning that Netanyahu is fighting against Iran, 'He is fighting against Iran, which recently took the lives of 52,000 innocent protesters.' Trump also claimed that Iran has been killing many, including American soldiers, for the past 47 years.< /p>

Further elaborating on his statement, Trump wrote, 'Those people should be arrested who have brought Iran to such a state of death and destruction.' He stated that previous presidents should have resolved this issue many years ago.< /p>

The International Criminal Court (ICC) had issued arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and some other Israeli leaders in 2024. They are accused of committing war crimes in Gaza following the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023.
