Weather Forecast: Moderate to Light Rain with Thunderstorms Expected in Most Cities

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has issued a weather forecast for Monday, predicting moderate to light rain with thunderstorms in most cities this afternoon and tonight.

Pokhara is expected to experience moderate rain with thunderstorms both afternoon and night, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. Pokhara's maximum temperature is estimated to be between 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius.

Kathmandu has a 60 percent chance of moderate rain with thunderstorms in both the afternoon and night. Kathmandu's maximum temperature will be between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius, and the minimum temperature between 20 to 22 degrees Celsius.

Nepalgunj, Bhairahawa, Dipayal, and Janakpur are expected to have maximum temperatures reaching 33 to 35 degrees Celsius during the afternoon. In the Terai cities, there is a 40 percent chance of moderate to light rain with thunderstorms in the afternoon and night. Dhangadhi will see an increased chance of rain at night, reaching 60 percent.

Biratnagar and Dharan have a 60 percent chance of rain in the afternoon, which will decrease to 40 percent at night. The maximum temperature in these areas will be between 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. Himalayan and hilly regions including Jomsom, Jumla, Jiri, Okhaldhunga, Dadeldhura, Ghorahi, Dhankuta, and Taplejung also have a 40 to 60 percent chance of moderate to light rain with thunderstorms.

The Meteorological Department has urged caution due to the risk of rain and thunderstorms in most cities.
