MP Gomadevi Timilsina Praises Nepali Engineers for Tunnel Construction

Kathmandu. MP Gomadevi Timilsina has praised Nepali engineers for constructing a tunnel route with their own expertise. In the meeting of the Public Policy and Delegated Legislation Committee, she stated that Nepali technicians should be appreciated and an environment should be created to retain them in the country.

She also inquired about the plan to utilize the water discharged during tunnel construction without letting it go to waste. She said, 'The tunnel route looked good. What I want to understand is, there was a land dispute issue initially, what is the current situation with local support or opposition? Another thing about water, what is the plan to utilize the water coming out of the tunnel?'

Project Director Saujanya Nepal informed that discussions are ongoing regarding how to utilize the 15 liters of water collected per second during tunnel construction. Project Director Nepal stated that coordination is underway with the Ministry of Water Supply on the options of using the water for drinking water towards Chandragiri or for irrigation towards Dhunibesi.

Furthermore, understanding the land compensation dispute and the status of local support, she drew the government's attention to completing national pride projects on time.
