Council for development of arts

Kathmandu –Nepal Art Council has said there is tremendous potential of the development of arts through the Council though government does not allocate adequate budget for it.

Nepal Art Council was set up in 2019BS as a major platform to bring into light the painting, sculptures and woodcrafts of artists.

Initially the Council was led by senior artist Lainsing Bangdel, while it is currently led by senior culture expert Satya Mohan Joshi.

Talking to RSS, Council's General Secretary, Shankar Nath Rimal, said those willing to be artists need to hone their skills.

Council is making utmost efforts for encouraging artists and promoting their arts despite very little grants- Rs 100,000 to 200,000 – from the government.

Both people from across the country and the foreign artists get their arts exhibited in the Council. The organizers of the exhibition with poor economic status get some discount as well.
