Over 1kg of unattended gold items discovered at TIA
KATHMANDU: Authorities at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have reported the discovery of unattended gold items weighing over 1kg.
The gold, totaling 1.07kg, was found abandoned beneath seats 27 and 28 on Air India Flight 6E1151, which arrived at 11:00 am on Wednesday from New Delhi and remained parked at the airport's zone.
Senior Superintendent of Police Krishna Hari Sharma from the TIA Security Office disclosed that among the items left behind were three gold chains, six gold biscuits, two triangular-shaped yellow objects believed to be gold, and two chain-rings.
Authorities are conducting investigations into the matter to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the abandonment of the valuable items at the airport.
