ANFA Vice Chairman arrested in Kathmandu for drug offense

KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman of the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Dawa Lama, has been apprehended by the police in Kathmandu.

SSP Somendra Singh Rathore from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office confirmed Lama's arrest on Wednesday.

Lama had been evading authorities due to his involvement in a drug-related offense.

The arrest stems from a legal case dating back to 2061 BS, when Lama, then in his early 20s, was caught with five grams of brown sugar in Banasthali, Kathmandu.

Subsequently, the Patan Appeal Court sentenced him to five years in prison in 2064 BS.
