Glacial lake burst causes flash flood in Gorkha

KATHMANDU: An unexpected outburst from Birendra Lake, nestled within the Manaslu Glacier in Gorkha District, has led to a flash flood downstream, as confirmed by Manoj Lamichhane, Chief Administrative Officer of Chumnubri Rural Municipality.

While the extent of the flood's damage is yet to be fully assessed, residents in the lower areas are advised to exercise caution until further notice.
