Kathmandu –The First Women Journalist Everest Expedition Team-2018 comprising journalist from Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS) Rosha Basnet scaled Mt Everest.
Liaison Officer Gyanendra Shrestha from the Everest Base Camp informed RSS that the four members of the team climbed Mt Everest at 6:00 this morning. All five team members except Priya Laxmi Karki of News 24 successfully reached the top of the world, he said.
Basnet, a permanent resident of Morang district, is with the English News Desk of RSS.
Other members scaling Mt Everest from the team include team leader Rojita Buddhacharya of BP Koirala Memorial Planetarium Observatory and Science Museum, Kalpana Maharjan of Megha Television and independent journalist Deurali Chamling.
The team has also taken the flag of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) at the top of Mt Everest.
Expedition of this season has almost come to the end and just one or two climbers are left to reach the top of Mt Everest, according to Liaison Officer Shrestha. Till today, more than 340 climbers have scaled Mt Everest in this spring season.
