ANNISU (Revolutionary) Student leader who attacked Ratopati journalist Dhami arrested

KATHMANDU, Sep 26: Police have arrested one person on charge of attacking Ratopati Journalist Krishna Singh Dhami in broad daylight on Monday. Police, on Tuesday, arrested Prem Sijapati aka Pandu, a central member of ANNISU (Revolutionary), a student union close to Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of the District Police Range Lalitpur, Siddhi Bikram Shah, told Ratopati that Sijapati was arrested from Kirtipur. Further investigation is being done by the District Police Range Lalitpur and the Valley Crime Investigation Office.

A press release was issued warning journalist Krishna Singh Dhami as well as Ratopati Online on the 12th of September, 2023, Tuesday. Prakash Shahi (C), Chairman of ANNISU (Revolutionary) had issued the press release warning to take physical action against Dhami.

A case has been registered in the District Police Range Lalitpur against those involved in the attack for the crime of attempted murder.

Various organizations including the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) have issued press releases against the attack, demanding to take legal action against the culprits.
