27 protestors arrested from Singha Durbar and Baneshwar

KATHMANDU, Sep 22: Police have arrested 27 members of ANNISU (Revolutionary), a student organization close to the CPN led by Mohan Baidhya Kiran, on Friday.

According to Kanchan, the spokesperson of the Revolutionary Communist Party, 27 members of the party were arrested from Singha Durbar and New Baneshwar areas while participating in the protest demanding the repeal of the education bill presented in the parliament, the production of skilled manpower needed by the country and the nationalization of education for the purpose.

It has been informed that 10 people including Basanta Bogati, Sharada Mahat, Indira Adhikari, Sunita Budhathoki, Manjil Bogati, Yubaraj Thapa, Roshan Karki, and Arjun Bogati were arrested from the Baneshwar area, while students leaders Harikrishna Gajurel, Milan Rai, Peshal Dahal, P)rabhat Bhattari, Birendra Shah, Rupa Budha, Rajan Raut, Govinda Bista, Smriti Karki, Sarjan Pandey, Laxmi Pandey, Milan Budha, Stalin Basnet, Roshan Yadav, Laxman Bam, Samir BK, and others were arrested from the area of the west gate of Singha Durbar.

It has been informed that many students have been injured by the police.
