4,369 new COVID-19 cases detected thru 12,770 tests

KATHMANDU, May 30: Despite a month-long prohibitory orders almost throughout the country, Nepal is still reporting a high infection rate of COVID-19. According to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), the positivity rate on Sunday was calculated at 34.21 percent although the number of tests have dropped down. 

Compared to Saturday’s 4,487 cases, the officials on Sunday confirmed 4,369 cases. According to the Health Ministry, as many as 12,770 tests were carried out including 10,986 RT-PCR tests and 1,784 antigen tests. 

Meanwhile, as many as 6,205 people recovered from the disease on Sunday while 109 others died due to deadly infection.
