President Bhandari and UAE Speaker hold talks

Abu Dhabi- Speaker of the Federal National Council of the UAE Dr. Amal Al Quibaisi, paid a courtesy call on President Bidya Devi Bhandari at Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. 
During the meet, President Bhandari congratulated Dr Al Quibaisi for being elected the Speaker and appreciated the UAE achievement in ensuring 70 % representation of women in government structures and 30 % in politics, informed President's personal secretary on development affairs, Dr Bimala Rai Poudel. 
On the occasion, President Bhandari also noted that women would occupy 40 per cent of the decision-making spaces after the implementation of the federal structure through the parliamentary and provincial elections as per the new constitution, Poudel further shared. 
Congratulating Bhandari for being the first woman President of Nepal, the UAE Speaker expressed her confidence that the visit would further expand the areas of cooperation between the two countries. 
Also present on the occasion was Minister for Supply Jayant Chand, some parliamentarians of UAE, UAE Ambassador to Nepal Saeed Hamdan Al-Nakel, Nepal's Charge d' Affaires to UAE Netra Bahadur Tandan, President's foreign affairs expert Madan Kumar Bhattarai and Foreign Secretary Shanker Das Bairagi, among others. 
Meanwhile, President Bhandari reached the Martyr Monument at Abu Dhabi to pay tributes to the martyrs on Tuesday. 
Sheikh Khalifa bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Director of The Martyrs' Families' Affairs Office received President Bhandari. 
On the occasion, President Bhandari had put her signature on the attendance book kept at the monument. 
The monument, which is named "Wahat Al Karama", was constructed in the honour of brave martyrs of the UAE. 
Located in between the Sheikh Zayad Grand Mosque and Armed Force of the UAE it is stretched over in around 46,000 square metres. 
Similarly, President Bhandari also visited Masdar City at Abu Dhabi on Tuesday. 
The President was welcomed by Adnan Amin, Director General of the International Renewable Energy Agency. 
Masdar City is a planned town of Abu Dhabi. It is fully depended on solar power and renewable energy. The city is being constructed nearby the Abu Dhabi international Airport. It is also the headquarters of the International Renewable Energy Agency.
