Chand-led leader arrested from Kavrepalanchowk on extortion charge

Kathmandu - Police here today arrested a leader of Nepal Communist Party-Maoist led by Netra Bikram Chand aka ‘Biplav’ from Kavrepalanchowk district on the charge of extortion. According to the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchowk, 54-year-old Madhusudan Bajagain from Shankhupatichaur in Dhulikhel Municipality-12 in the district was arrested for his alleged involved in extortion.

DSP Kumar Bikram Thapa shared that Bajagain was nabbed from his residence. He was arrested on a tip-off that he was involved in extorting money by threatening the businessperson in the district. Bajagain has admitted to police about his association with the Chand-led party that has been declared a terrorist outfit by the incumbent government. He had hurled foul words at police when police interrogated him at his home. Police said that they were investigating the case after taking him on remand.
