Chief Minister Shahi expresses grief over the fatalities in road mishap

Kathmandu - Chief Minister of Karnali State Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the people in a Jajarkot jeep accident. At least five persons including Junichande rural municipality-11 ward chair Amar Bahadur Shahi were killed in the jeep accident which occurred at Aunlakhola in the rural municipality on Wednesday.

“The big human casualties including elected people’s representatives due to the jeep accident have stunned the State government”, Chief Minister Shahi said. Chief Minister Shahi expressed heartfelt tribute to all those killed in the incident and also extended condolences to the grief-stricken family members. 5 lost their lives when the jeep (Bhe 1 Ja 935) en route to Junichande met with the accident at Aunlakhola. Wishing for the speedy recovery of the injured, he urged all sides concerned to not allow any weakness in the treatment of the injured and search for the missing ones.

The Chief Minister had extended his thanks to those involved in the rescue, treatment and information sharing of the incident. Expressing concern over the rise in the number of fatalities in the road mishaps, he also asked the authorities concerned to take effective measures for the prevention and control of the road accidents.
