NC concerned at govt's decision to withhold social security allowance

Kathmandu - The Nepali Congress has said its attention was drawn towards the government's decision to withhold, for the time being, the social security allowance given to the helpless, the people with disabilities and the single women.

Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress parliamentary party, Bal Krishna Khand, has, through a press release on Wednesday, drawn the attention of the government to immediately correct its decision as the Constitution itself maintained that the helpless, people with disabilities and single women should not be deprived of the social security.

The main opposition party said to suspend the social security allowance at a time these people are suffering due to the adverse impact of COVID-19 pandemic was an inhumane act.
