Youth kills parents

Kathmandu - A youth has murdered his parents at local Ishibu of Phedap rural municipality-5. Twenty-year-old Kanchan Limbu attacked his father Rup Bahadur Limbu and step-mother Isha Khapung Limbu with an axe at 6pm on Thursday, killing them instantaneously. The father is 42 years old while the step-mother is 35 years old.

Police had reached the crime scene after Kanchan himself dialled 100 and called the police saying he killed his parents. The incident site is four kilometres from the police station. Police said they had been following Kanchan from the time he called them and a team of the Poklabang police station arrested him while on the run, Police Inspector Tej Bahadur Dahal said.

He added that a police team from the District Police Office will reach the incident site today for further investigation into the case. Preliminary investigation by police showed that Kanchan killed his parents over minor family dispute. The dead couple has a seven-moth-old daughter and her elder uncle Dev Bahadur Phombo has taken her custody.
