Code violations continue unabated

Gaushala - The violation of election code of conduct by political parties is continuing unabated in upcoming local polls in Mahottari district of the Province-2.

Since the start of the election publicity campaign, the national political parties including Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (Maoist Centre), RPP, Rastriya Janata Party, Federal Socialist Forum and Nepal Democratic Forum have been breaching election code in an excessive manner.

As many as 4,410 candidates have filed their candidacies for 720 posts in the district where there are 10 municipalities and five rural municipalities.

It is found that the political parties here are involved in election publicity by pasting pamphlets/posters in public places and organizing assemblies and gatherings with high-sounding mikes round the clock against the poll codes.

Likewise, the candidates are found using more than a dozen of vehicles and hundreds of motorbikes with big banners for publicity which are brazenly against the election code of conduct.

Similarly, the political parties have descended their cadres to streets with the t-shirts and caps reflecting their election symbol. They are seen using children during election campaign.
