Inaugurating the Visit Nepal Year with an expense of 50 million, 24 thousands being invited

 Kathmandu–A grand inauguration of Visit Nepal 2020 is going to be held on January 1. The government has allocated a budget of 50 million for the inauguration ceremony.

The government, which is preparing to attract maximum 2 million tourists has allocated total budget of 50 million 385 thousand just for the ceremony. Earlier, the organizer had allocated 20 million for the program. After this budget was not sufficient, the additional budget was raised.

The fifth meeting of the committee, held on Bhadra 10, had allocated 20 million for the formal opening. But as the opening ceremony will include more programs, the spending has increased, the committee said.

In the program, a large number of marches will be marched along with Nepalese art, culture, costumes and music. In addition, the logo of the tour year will be displayed along with the national flag in the sky via drones.

Similarly, Nepal Army's helicopter will arrange a floral shower with national flags and banners for the program.

20 million for the stage management Up to 20 million will be spent on the stage management of the inaugural program of the tour. According to the budget schedule prepared by the Secretariat of Tourism Year 2020, the inauguration ceremony of the program will cost more than 20 million for the stage and technical management.

Various technical works including the stage of the program, presentation screen and sound system will be covered within this. The committee has allotted a budget of 1 million 582 thousand for the main stage, 1 million 969 thousand 5 hundred and 90 for VIP's area, 1 million 107 thousand for press and backstage management, and 1.5 to 2 million for documentation, security and technical management. Similarly, 5 million for digital screen, 4 million for lights and 2 million for sound system.

Besides these, the committee has also allocated budget for alternative energy (generator). The Secretariat has separated the expenses on the two heads including private and government. It has assumed an expense of 36 million 80 thousand 6 hundred 50 and 28 paisa for the activities carried by private sector. Also, 14 million 500 thousand as the organizing expenses including VAT.

Bachuram Shrestha, secretary of the secretariat, informed that 24,000 invitation cards has been sent to specific individuals, including domestic and foreign guests, for participation in the program.

He said that invitations were sent to foreign ambassadors, ministers, local governmental and non-governmental organizations, ministries, departments, and special guests.

'We have already sent invitations to all indigenous, foreign sectors and individuals to whom we should invite. About 24,000 invitation cards have been distributed', Shrestha said. 'In the presence of all the invited guests, the stadium won't be able to withstand the mass. We have estimated that half of those who are invited will attend. But in case of more presence, we have arranged for the stage screen to be visible from outside the courtyard and the army field.'

Suraj Vaidya, the head of the secretariat, said that the Dasarath Stadium might get insufficient for the inauguration ceremony. He analyzes the remarkable presence of indigenous and foreign guests. 'Everyone is excited about the tour year. This enthusiasm is seen not only in Nepalese but also in foreigners. As a result, I see a significant volume of guest attendance at the inaugural event of the tour year.' Vaidya said, 'we are having our preparation to adjust the pressure of visitors.'

The program will be attended by foreign guests and distinguished personalities from around forty countries. The government has already sent invitations. Here, hundreds of indigenous governmental and non-governmental organizations will pass the march in the program.

The program is also to present an artistic demo of the March Pass and Visit Nepal 2020 with the national tune by the Nepalese Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police.
